A tiny neighborhood of colorful birdhouses brings whimsical charm to this decorative gourd. Birdhouses in varied shapes and colors are woodburned into the gourd around its approximately 2-inch opening, each painted with tiny details. A small hole drilled into every birdhouse creates the playful illusion of an entrance just waiting for a miniature bird.
The top edge is carved to follow each birdhouse’s roofline, creating a distinctive silhouette around the opening. A natural-colored stain finishes the bottom, while the interior is painted black. Display it on a shelf or tabletop where its little details can be enjoyed up close.
